Reflextion My piece in this project was about a shark attack in Puerto Rico that recently occurred. I originally had trouble finding a current event that interested me. Once I found the article on the shark attack I had to write an article about the event in my own words. This article had to be 250 words and it had to be written like a script because I was going to make a news video with my group. The video had to be 45-90 seconds per person, easy to understand, and creatively produced.
I connected most with the speaking piece in this project. I really enjoyed this part of the project because I understood how to do this part a little better. I was able to do this part well and easily. I think that my best moment was when I spoke my part on camera I spoke it without to many mistakes and it only took 15 minutes to do the whole thing.
What challenged me most in this was the writing piece of this project. I had a lot of trouble conjugating everything correctly. I had to do a lot of research to make sure that I was using the words correctly. Even then my final piece had a lot of mistakes. One moment that really stands out was when I was editing my paper on the final night. I really got frustrated that night. What frustrated me most was the fact that no matter how much I edited I was still unsure about whether or not I had the right conjugation.
I learned during this project that I am much more comfortable with the spoken word than with the written one. At least this is definitely true with foreign languages such as spanish. I also learned that I am good at getting what I need to done but sometimes after that I have trouble helping my group out. During my future group projects I would like to not only do my own part but also help my groupmates with their pieces.
Not only was I learning spanish during this project I was also learning about thing that are going on in Puerto Rico. This gave me a reason be learning the spanish. Instead of just doing a project on anything I was learning about current events and I was learning about spanish as well. This made the project interesting to me.
