10th Grade Humanities
This year we studied the Truth of War. We did this by reading multiple books and many alternate sources on WW1, WW2 and the Vietnam War. This gave us insight on the ugliness that existed during these wars and the horrors of war in general.
Poetry: spoken word
In this project we got an intro to the use of Rhetoric and leaned valuable presentation skills. We also learned about different types of poetry that exist and how and why they are used. An excerpt from my poetry that I liked was
Generations that ravaged mother nature
why can’t we take care of her.
A island of our waste corrupts the waters.
If the money flows like sweet honey here
in another place, paucity awaits.
Rummage through trash while the rich all shout jeers.
Never enough, may be too much
My poem focused on greed and the economic injustice in our country.
